Providing the safest, most unique, and memorable ocean experience available. We time the sail to pull in at Port Allen near dusk, our goal is to return you to shore safe, happy and full. Meanwhile our team of onboard chefs will get busy preparing the fresh meal. Unlike other charter boats, The Star is equipped with a full galley (kitchen) and bar.
DELUXE NAPALI SUNSET TOUR
Our friendly crew will share the legends and lore of the ancient Hawaiians that once inhabited this dramatic coastline as we cruise along. Your adventure can begin on one of our two luxurious catamarans. Leila is a 50-foot sailing catamaran that features level-sailing capabilities, never experiencing more than 10 degrees of heel. Holo Holo is our swift 65-foot power catamaran, that reaches fast speeds without compromising comfort. Both of our vessels have ample space to move about and get incredible vantage points of the Nā Pali coastline. While both vessels are rated to hold more, we value your comfort and therefore limit capacity to 49 guests aboard Holo Holo and 37 guests aboard Leila.
Na Pali Sunset & Sightsee Boat Tour
The catamaran design allows for level sailing. With no more than 10 degrees of “heel,” you won’t be sailing sideways. From the moment we took off our shoes it was a great ride. Plenty to eat and drink and the group size was just great. Beautiful sunset and beautiful water topped off the adventure.

The Napali Coast
Step on board our luxurious sailing catamaran and you'll immediately feel the warm hospitality and professionalism of our experienced crew. Settle into the spacious deck, find a comfortable spot, and get ready to embark on a truly magical Kauai dinner cruise. As the sun begins its descent, watch in awe as the colors transform, creating a picturesque backdrop for an unforgettable evening. Skip the restaurant and enjoy a delicious Kauai sunset tour including dinner and drinks, while basking in the glory of the Napali Coast–rainbows, cliffs, valleys, beaches, waterfalls, wildlife.
Nā Pali Sunset Cruise or Sail Tour Features
Both tour options feature the same sights and buffet options, just differing in your choice of vessel and tour duration. Holo Holo means to explore, to travel, and to go! We invite you to go the distance and experience the adventure of a lifetime. Travel in comfort and style to dramatic locations around Kauai and Hawaii’s “Forbidden Island” of Niihau off uninhabited Lehua Crater. The waters of Niihau and Lehua are considered to be some of the best in Hawaii with over 100-feet of visibility and unique lava formations with rare endemic sea life you won’t find anywhere else. Experience ancient Hawaii from the water by power or sail during a Napali Coast Sunset Dinner Cruise and experience majestic waterfalls, hidden sea caves, towering cliffs, and lush valleys.
A delicious, hot buffet dinner will be served as you take in the incredible sights. Relax and allow your imagination to run wild with tales of ancient Hawaiians that thrived in this stunning landscape. In the winter and spring months, humpback whales are commonly spotted off this coastline as they mate in these waters and begin their migration north. Picture 3,500 foot sea cliffs drenched in shades of pink, purple, and gold. This incredible scene can be encountered on this adventurous tour aboard one of our luxurious catamarans, with a cold drink in hand. Experience the emerald valleys, cascading waterfalls, and volcanic sea caves hidden behind the towering cliffs of the Nā Pali coast on our spectacular Nā Pali Sunset Cruise or Sail tour.
Sailing is peaceful and powerful and ancient—the feeling is in our bones. Please know that while Kauai has reliable trade wind patterns and that we’re able to sail comfortably most days, there are also days we cannot. We’d much rather keep our guests comfortable and having a splendid time, rather than force sailing in unfavorable conditions. The Holo Holo snorkel/sail was a great excursion!
Kauai Sunset Cruises
Enjoy a delicious dinner with fresh ocean breezes, and am open bar with refreshing drinks. Our Nā Pali Coast Sunset Cruise or Snorkel features a sightseeing adventure along this coastline to explore the hidden sea caves and waterfalls that are only visible from the sea. From December to April, humpback whales are commonly seen frolicking in these warm Hawaiian waters as they mate and continue their migration north towards Alaska.
A little disappointed that we could not see the sunset go in the ocean. We have been on other sunset cruises and always could see the sun go in the ocean but we had land block our view. Overall it was fun but not what we thought we signed up for. If you're lucky enough to join the cruise during the whale-watching season (December to April), keep your eyes peeled for majestic humpback whales.
This means that the meal can be prepared fresh onboard instead of the standard practice of pre-cooking food. The sail starts with a short briefing and introduction as we depart from Port Allen and head West, then North and upwind on the Na Pali (depending on the conditions).
Take in breathtaking views as you cruise along NaPali Coast on one of our spacious 65′ catamarans for this dinner tour. Explore the beauty and adventure on one of our Kauai boat tours to the Napali Coast, Niihau and Lehua Crater. We are conveniently located in Port Allen, to serve guests of Kauai staying in Koloa, Poipu, Waimea, Kapaa, Wailua, Lihue, Kilauea, Hanalei, and Princeville. Voyage to the Napali Coast and let us wine you and dine you, as we sail off into the sunset on our gorgeous & comfortable 50’ catamaran, Leila. Make sure to bring your camera on this spectacular Kauai tour.
Onboard, help yourself to a delicious selection of appetizers and buffet dinner, island juices, soft drinks, beer, wine, mai tais and champagne at sunset. Enjoy comfort and relaxation onboard this 65′ catamaran. We’ll be traveling on Leila, a 50-foot-long, 28-foot-wide motorized sailing catamaran. Leila sits low to the water, providing more stability, safety, and comfort than many other top-heavy tour boats. She’s gorgeous and capable and the island’s only commercial sailing vessel that was proudly built right here on Kauai.
